Hi parents and students. I hope each of you have had a wonderful summer vacation. At least you students. Parents, some of you may be anxious to have your kids back in school. Regardless, summer is coming to an end and the beginning of school is here. There are a number of dates that you will need to be aware of and I have listed them below. I know I have spoken to many of our teachers and they have expressed to me that they are refreshed and are looking forward to another great school year at Valley View. I feel the same way. Please let me know if there are any concerns you may have that need to be addressed. I would be happy to discuss them with you.

- Aug. 23rd Open House for students and parents to meet their teacher - 4 to 6 pm
- Aug. 25th First day of school beginning at 8:40 am
- Sept. 1st First day of school for kindergarten - 8:40 for AM and 12:15 for PM
- Sept. 3rd Hearing screenings for K, 1st, 3rd, and 5th grades in the media center
- Sept. 6th Labor Day - No school
- Sept. 7th First day of school for preschool
- Sept. 10th Vision screenings for all students - AM in the auditorium
- Sept. 30th NetSmart internet safety assembly - 1:30 in the auditorium
- Oct. 14th and 15th - Fall Break - No school
